NAPFE SALUTES BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Black History has only been recognized since 1926, and that is thanks to Dr. Carter G. Woodson. He decided that it was unfair to the people who had help to build this country that none of the contributions of the African American were listed in an American History book.
How can a true American History be written if you do not mention all of the people who came to these shores to found a new world.

The African American was brought here in chains to do the work: till the fields, wet-nurse the babies, build the houses and the lean-tos. Eventually, the nation learned that African- Americans can actually handle “sophisticated equipment” such as airplanes. And now, it has taken over fifty years for the nation to again learn that African Americans have contributed to the greatness that is America; what three women contributed to the Space Race.
